50th Anniversary Conclusion Video: Las Vegas Business Meeting and Founders Council Recognition
Thursday, May 28, 2009  by Cindy Droog

Yesterday in Las Vegas, this statement from Doug DeVos summed up a week's worth of 50th Anniversary Celebration Events: "It's pretty simple, right? Two guys. One idea. The Amway idea. And one vision that has carried us for 50 years."

Enjoy the video, as Steve Van Andel, Doug DeVos, Rich DeVos, and Founders Council members talk about how each day, every single one of us honors the idea that having a business of one's own changes lives, and in fact, can change the world.

Perhaps someone up there "at the top" could help us out here in the field understand something?  I was very excited about our rollout of the Legacy of clean products, and have been talking about them to family and customers, as well as our IBO's.  Today as I was looking around on the the website, I noticed that in addition to the price decreases, which are great, there was an even larger PV?BV decrease!  the 1L bottle of LOC all purpose, the product that started it all is now worth LESS than 1 PV????  you have to be joking right? so to get 100 PV, instead of moving somewhere around $300 worth of product, now an IBO has to move $600 plus to get the same PV, and gets significantly LESS BV on the same products?  I understand the need for lower prices, so we can actualy compete in the marketplace, but how about making it worth retailing these products as well? An IBO who was at the 1000 PV level, with these changes, is going to find themselves at around 300PV or less, if the IBOs in their downline get frustrated in dramatic drop in their monthly checks due to the lackluster PV/BV ratio.

Thank you for your comment. The new pricing and PV/BV are part of the larger Amway Global  transformation strategy, which was developed in collaboration with IBO leaders. Lower prices mean more retailing opportunities. The Legacy of Clean products are part of the Support pricing category designed to be used to introduce customers to your business and your line of products. After trying these home products, customers may be open to hearing about Nutrilite and Artistry products, which have the greatest PV/BV.

You’re correct that you’ll need to sell more products to get the same PV as before the pricing and PV/BV changes. However, we believe the lower prices will draw more customers to you, boosting your sales and creating greater growth in your business.

THANK YOU AMWAY!  after venting some frustration, In the above post, I was sure I would not be posted.  Thank you for posting a response that was fair and level headed.  I also want to thank you for hearing the IBOs who are out here building our businesses. One of the critical factors in my expirence, is a BV ratio that is the same as the dollars spent in IBO cost.  After seeing how dramaticly the Legacy products were discounted, It was obvious that an active IBOs month PV would take a serious dive if they had customers using Legacy products.  THANK YOU TO WHOEVER MADE THE DECISION TO INCREASE THE PV/BV RATIO.  I really cant tell you enough what this means to active IBOs in the field- not only that this move is one that will make our businesses more profitable, but that you actually hear us out here in "below platinum land"!

Thank you!
