Early Success for new IBOs via The Fast Track

Today kicks off the Sales Department's blogging efforts on True Success, our plan over the next year to bring new pricing, incentives, selling support, and training to help all IBOs take their businesses to the next level.

It's also my first time writing to the Opportunity Zone! I'm Angie Polsgrove, Amway Global's Sales Transformation Manager. I report directly to Sandy Spielmaker and for the past 10+ years, I've been working with IBOs on growing their businesses and developing key metrics for tracking growth. It's my passion! But back to True Success...

True Success is about what this business opportunity offers to all IBOs through several new programs we introduced at Achievers 2008. Programs like new pricing, incentives, selling support, and training. True Success encompasses:

  • Programs like FAST TRACK (more below!) and new pricing strategies to help IBOs focus their efforts and make more money, sooner.
  • Retail Selling Systems - new, targeted retailing strategies for growing profitability through customers.
  • Campaign Strategies that will drive consumer interest with on-trend, targeted, and heavily promoted campaigns.

True Success is new. It's a change for all of us. So, in that spirit, I wanted to share two of my favorite quotes about change. You may have heard them before, but I think they're inspiring, and even a bit humorous, like this one: "Change is inevitable - except from a vending machine!"

So true! It's also true what author and poet Lynn Hall said (paraphrased): "We do not change as we grow older. We just become more clearly ourselves."

True Success and the Fast Track program are a little like that. Perhaps not huge changes, but reinforcements of our commitment to new people who join this business. We've chosen to blog about Fast Track first in this series, because frankly, it's generated the most excitement so far. And for good reason! We launched Fast Track at the Achievers event in Las Vegas in December, and it was a crowd pleaser. The basics are this:

  • In a new IBO's first 90 days, he or she can qualify for a $200 bonus by showing the beginnings of building a balanced business with both retailing and sponsoring as components.
  • Additionally, that IBO's upline(s), the people that sponsored them into the business, can receive cash awards for helping new IBOs qualify for the Fast Track program.

It's really that simple.

As Lynn Hall says, we are just "becoming more clearly ourselves." We've always been passionate about helping new IBOs succeed. Since Rich and Jay founded Amway, we've been committed to a level playing field, one in which a new IBO has as much opportunity as anyone in the business.

Fast Track rewards IBOs - at all levels - who are doing the right things to encourage building a balanced business, and recruiting of others who want to do the same.

If you're an IBO, details of the Fast Track program can be found here once you log in to our web site. If you're thinking of becoming an IBO, ask the person who is sponsoring you about Fast Track, or pose specific questions here in the Opportunity Zone for us to answer.

Either way, we think you'll be pleasantly surprised with what you'll find.

I am so very excited to be at the right place at the right time! I truly feel Amway Global has and continues to step up to the plate, making this the BEST business opportunity on the planet. I read yesterday we hired another marketing person that has a long list of great credentials. From out here on the front line I send a huge thanks to all of you there that make this work better and better.

Angie, We won't have a level playing field until the tool profit is transparent to all prospects and IBO's.

Hi Angie,

You say there is more training coming for "all" IBO's. Does that mean Amway will provide "all" the tools etc as in the UK. I sure hope so ! One of the problems out in the field is that the many different LOA's like to put their own spin on what is important and what is the proper way to build and structure the business. This is proof that the accreditation program can't work. In case you aren't aware, there is still a huge problem with misrepresentation of the products and business opportunity. It won't stop until Amway provides all the tools and training...period! Only then will all IBO's have a level playing field as you say.

The progress that Amway has made with all the new programs and ads etc is truly a welcome site however.

Thanks you and the corp for the ongoing support.

graniteman, I don't agree Amway needs to take over the training, but they do need to make the change I suggested and better "police" what is going on, as is being done in the UK. It would also help not being thrown off the upline's meeting schedule website when pointing out the retail rules are being broken. Amway's only response is access to this information is a "privilege", even though the rules do not use that term directly or imply it indirectly. Also, I think tools are allowed in the UK, as long as they don't make a profit from the tools, and may be subject to some level of approval.

graniteman is right. Misrepresentation is rampant. Income misrepresentation will not stop until there is a customizable IBO compensation plan presentation for PROSPECTS (not just for IBOs--DUH!) on the site. By customizable, I mean 100 PV to 400 PV circles, and a 9-4-2 or 6-4-2 or a 4-4-4 (maybe a 6-6-6? just kidding) plan complete with all the disclaimers, average incomes, and highest bonuses paid. What is the holdup on this? It does not take two years to put something like this up on the site, along with a receipt function that actually works. Good grief! I guess the corp. would just rather talk about warm fuzzy stuff and hope we get all excited about it.

Tex I don't usually disagree with you, but this time I do. For the long term good of this company and business, there needs to be consistency of message, technique and product claims etc. Right now there exist a climate of one LOA saying it is better than another, accompanied by the usual system support spin and continued misrepresentations. We end up with one trying to out do the other with fraudulent income claims masked by unknown tool income. As I have said in the past, all Amway needs do is put out it's own line of tools and give the INDEPENDENT business owner the choice. As we have seen all to often, all around the world LOA leaders just can't help themselves. It should be called tool profit addiction. The numbers tell the truth. With all the LOA strongly encouraged tool support, the per IBO performance has been and still is very dismal. It's this fact that no one wants to talk about and it should be right up front. Finally, Amway is putting programs into place to really help the new IBO get off to a much more successful start. Something over 30 years of systems and tools failed to do. It can't be more clear! Amway has had to come to the rescue! Thank you Angie and the rest of the folks at the mother ship. Keep the company support coming! Let Amway do it all. 30 new "Amway Live" event locations around the country this year shows they are headed in the right direction. I just wish the accreditation program would be eliminated. All this does is feeds the tool profit addiction which is the number one cause for Amway's bad reputation. UK, India etc. etc.

You need to change the name of your Fast Track program, as this term is being used as a means of promoting the tool scam: http://quixtarisnumber1.blogspot.com/2009/02/fast-track-program.html

Editor's Note: Thank you for pointing this out to us. We will post a clarification shortly!

Editor's Note, February 13: The blog linked to above is no longer available for viewing, and has been taken down. I apologize for any inconvenience, but am still thankful for the opportunity to clarify/correct any misperceptions about The Fast Track program.

We wanted to follow up on the link to an IBO's blog above. To clarify, there is no CD requirement to participate in the Fast Track Program.

In addition, there is no requirement to show the plan a specific number of times per week.

The requirements are:

1. Sponsor three new IBOs who generate 150 PV of which at least 50 must be to retail customers.

2. Do this in the first 90 days in the business.

An IBO's upline may have suggestions for how to achieve these goals, but the above are the only requirements.

I hope this helps!
